SLSSV is a private-pay practice. Why do we not accept insurance?
-Processing insurance is an expensive and time-consuming task.
-Not accepting insurance helps to keep our costs - and therefore, fees - lower.
-Treatment planning stays between the SLP and the client (or client’s family), and not in the hands of an insurance company.
How do clients pay for therapy?
-Clients pay SLSSV directly.
-Many clients use Health Care Savings Accounts.
-Clients can submit receipts from SLSSV to their insurance company for reimbursement (depending on their coverage, plan, and policy).
-If appropriate, clients can join group therapy sessions, in which clients work on similar goals at the same time. These sessions have a lower per-session cost than individual therapy.
How do clients get started with SLSSV?
(1) If you wish to submit receipts for reimbursement, contact your insurance carrier for current coverage information and reimbursement guidelines. You may also need a referral from your doctor. Although SLSSV does not accept insurance, you may need some sort of authorization to submit receipts for reimbursement from a health care account.
(2) Contact Speech-Language Services of Silicon Valley for further information and/or scheduling.
(3) Make copies of any previous pertinent reports or notes (i.e. neurology, speech-language pathology, Individualized Education Program (IEP), Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), etc.). Submit these forms via the Client Portal.
(4) Complete the forms that SLSSV has provided to you via the Client Portal.
